20 for 2020

Happy New Year! 2020 has well and truly arrived.  I like to think of the New Year as a fresh start, but for the last 5 years I've set myself a list of resolutions in January and by February they're all long forgotten and I fall back into old routines and habits. So this year, I've set myself 20 goals for 2020 and I'm sharing them with you in this post - the idea is that, this time next year, I can do a post updating you how they turned out and if I achieved them - hopefully this is going to motivate me to stick to them!

1 . Try a Pescatarian diet.  I've been wanting to try this for a while and think the new year is the perfect time.  The plan is to try it for the whole month of January and see how I get on!

2. Blog more.  This is something I'm really hoping to stick to, sometimes it can be hard to create good posts that I'm proud of while having a full time job and a social life. But blogging is something I really enjoy and I love this little space on the internet that I've created, so I'm determined to do more of it. I'm hoping to post every Wednesday and Sunday.

3. Go to the gym at least 3 times a week. Praying 2020 is the year I finally get my dream summer bod......

4. Be more strict with spending habits and save more! Deleting all shopping apps from my phone asap.

5. Go to a Spa. I've never actually been on a Spa weekend but I've always wanted to go, so I'm definitely going to try book one this year.

6. Learn to cook better.  I can only really do the basics but when I do cook I actually enjoy it and I love food, so I'd definitely like to do more of it and hopefully master some dishes!

7. Read more. Again, something I enjoy but don't really do much of, reaching for your phone or watching Netflix always seems less effort.

8. Book dream trip to California. Me and my family are hoping to go on a California road trip in 2021 - a dream of mine! So fingers crossed we can get it all booked this year!

9. Practise Meditation once a week. I have the Calm app which I love and want to make sure I use it at least once a week - it helps my Anxiety SO much.

10. Get more confident with driving.  I don't know what it is but the last few months I seem to have lost all confidence when driving, something I'm determined to shake off in the New Year.

11. Go walking more. One of my favourite pastimes and it's good for the mind.

12. Attend a music festival or concert. Ever since I attended Parklife Festival in 2019 I've been itching to go back. There's nothing like live music!

13.  Travel somewhere new.  Already have a city break booked for March thanks to my boyfriend, so excited!!!!

14. Do 10,000 steps a day.  Or get as near to as I can (sometimes feels impossible when you have an office job!). I've recently bought myself a FitBit so hoping this motivates me.

15. Clear out my wardrobe/bedroom.  Get rid of all the clutter and things I'll never use or need.

16. Spend less time on my phone/social media. I waste so much time on my phone when I could be doing something much more productive.

17. Stop overthinking everything. If I really want to do something, I need to just go out and do it - not worry about what people might say or the 'what ifs'.

18. Get a tattoo. Only a little one, if I ever fully make up my mind on what I want!

19. Prioritise my sleep. When I get in bed I need to start actually going to sleep - not going on my phone or watching 'just one more' episode on Netflix because I really need my sleep. Not a morning person at all.

20. Buy our first house. Probably the biggest goal of the year - so fingers crossed!

Have you set any goals/resolutions for yourself for the New Year? I'd love to hear them!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year!

Here's to 2020!
